🚗

用法上常和 app 连用:book a rideshare, request a rideshare。

I booked a rideshare to the airport.

在大城市你可以用hail a taxi或hail a cab。

We tried to hail a cab but it was rush hour.

传统出租车按meter计费,你可以问司机“turn on the meter”或“Is the meter running?”

Please turn on the meter.

Is this a metered fare or a flat rate?

There’s surge pricing right now, the fare doubled.

I accidentally booked a pool ride and we picked up two more people.

I'll split the fare with you in the app.

The app showed an upfront fare of $18.

Please meet me at curbside pickup outside Terminal 2.

There’s a taxi stand outside the train station.

🚫
no-show fee详解 →

I got charged a no-show fee because I wasn't at the pickup spot.

Core Expressions

Beginner入门

Take me to [place].

How much to [destination]?

Do you take cards?

Natural日常

I'm at the curb by the Starbucks.

Could you avoid tolls, please?

Can we go the quickest route?

Native地道

There's surge right now—do you want to cancel and wait?

I'll split the fare in the app.

Mind if I check your badge number?

Common Mistakes

I want to arrive to the hotel.

I want to go to the hotel. / I'm going to the hotel.

英语里更常说go to或I'm heading to,如果强调完成可说arrive at the hotel(注意介词用at而不是to)。

Wait my second.

Wait for me a second. / Hold on a sec.

英语里常用Wait for me 或更口语的Hold on a sec。

I will split the price.

I'll split the fare.

Can you go slow a little?

Can you take a slower route? / Could you slow down a bit?

P

You can cancel, yeah. And splitting is fine—just send the split invite once you're in the ride details.
P
Passenger
Cool. One more thing, can we avoid tolls if possible?

P
